Set your password
The Mac computer you received has no password set or admin is the password. You will want to set a password so you can access all the features.
Follow these steps:
1. Click the "System Preferences" icon on the desktop.
2. In the System Preferences window, click the "Security & Privacy" icon.
3. At the top of the "Security & Privacy" window you will see: "A login password has not been set for this user - Set Password..."
Click on "Set Password..."
4. In the Change Password window, there are four boxes you can fill in:
Old Password: Leave this blank or admin is the password. There is no password set or admin is the password.
New Password: Enter your password here.
Verify: Enter your password again.
Password Hint: You can add a hint here so that you can remember your password.
5. When you are finished, click the "Change Password" button.
Additional Password Information
The hard drive in your computer was erased and the macOS operating system was installed. You are the first person to log in. No passwords have been set.
Password
No password has been set or admin is the password. When you turn on your computer, just press the Return key when asked for the password or type admin. You will be allowed access to the computer.
Changing and Resetting Passwords
You can change the Login Password and Admin Password at any time. Important: Make a note of your new password when you change it!
